New School Calendar and Bell Schedule

Hello Parents! Here is the 2018-19 school calendar. Please note there are changes, including early release Wednesdays and bell schedule changes. Every Wednesday, indicated by “A”, all students in K-5 will be released at 1:45 p.m. Each day students should be at school by 8:05 a.m., with the instructional (tardy) bell ringing at 8:10 a.m. Students in K-3rd will be released at 2:25 p.m. daily. Students in 4th-5th will be released at 3:10 p.m. YES program will run each day and is available to all students during the enrollment period at the beginning of the year. Character Counts DJ Party!

Students who have demonstrated great character were rewarded with a DJ party last Friday. They had a great time! Remember those Six Pillars of Character: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Caring, Fairness, and Citizenship.

This Friday is Vandalia's Parent Picnic. If you would like to take part, follow these simple steps:
1. Bring lunch for you and your child
2. After you sign-in, find a shaded area on campus

PIQE: Over 40 Vandalia Parents Graduate!

The Parent Institute for Quality Education (PIQE) hosted their K-12 Parent Engagement in Education Program at Vandalia. The nine week program took place on Wednesday nights and focused on a variety of subjects such as creating a home learning environment, navigating the school system, and encouraging high school and college graduation. A big thank you to all the parents who took the time out of their busy schedules to participate!
