The Parent Institute for Quality Education (PIQE) hosted their K-12 Parent Engagement in Education Program at Vandalia. The nine week program took place on Tuesday nights and focused on a variety of subjects such as creating a home learning environment, navigating the school system, and encouraging high school and college graduation. A big thank you to all the parents who took the time out of their busy schedules to participate!
Our 1st Annual Turkey Trot was a success. A big thank you to Mr. Suarez for organizing this great event. Teachers, students, and parents had a great time!

Hello Parents! Here is the 2018-19 school calendar. Please note there are changes, including early release Wednesdays and bell schedule changes. Every Wednesday, indicated by “A”, all students in K-5 will be released at 1:45 p.m. Each day students should be at school by 8:05 a.m., with the instructional (tardy) bell ringing at 8:10 a.m. Students in K-3rd will be released at 2:25 p.m. daily. Students in 4th-5th will be released at 3:10 p.m. YES program will run each day and is available to all students during the enrollment period at the beginning of the year. On Monday evening, 5th grade students were recognized for their achievement in academics, behavior, and attendance. They are ready for 6th grade! We will miss all of you!
Students who have demonstrated great character were rewarded with a DJ party last Friday. They had a great time! Remember those Six Pillars of Character: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Caring, Fairness, and Citizenship.
As the school year winds down, it is time to recognize the students for all their hard work. Students were awarded for their academic achievement, behavior, and attendance. Great work!
